Opoku Pious is my name, and I am a Ghanaian from the Western North region of Ghana. I am a
final year Phd accounting at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. I graduated with a
Master of Science degree in Accounting from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law,
Wuhan (June 2021). I obtained my bachelor’s degree in accounting in July 2017 with second-class
honors from the University for Development Studies, with a GPA of 3.66, Tamale-Ghana.
Graduating from an institution that values both the theoretical and practical aspects of learning, I
had the opportunity to undertake the practical field research program in my first and second year,
where students are put into groups to undertake developmental research in rural communities and
write a developmental proposal to non-governmental organizations and the government for
consideration during government budget allocation. In the third year, I had the opportunity to
undertake an industrial attachment as an accounts officer with one of the renowned insurance
institutions “Social Security and National Insurance Trust.” In order to put theory into practice,
after graduating, I had the opportunity to work as an account officer at the National Health
Insurance Authority and Sefwi Wiawso College of Education. In order to develop my research
skills, I have been able to publish papers in reputable journals. I have served as the president and
financial controller of the National Union of Ghana Students in China, Nanchang chapter. As a
philanthropist, I have also contributed to my society by gathering used clothing, shoes, jerseys,
school bags, and other items. My ultimate goal is to put a smile on the face of the less privileged.
